Two for the Road's New York Connection

I knew Melissa Murphy as a child in New York... she loved
to watch her mother bake... so did I.  She was five when
she started helping in the kitchen, and here she is at 40 with
one of the top bakeries in Brooklyn, New York..
Isn't it wonderful to see how children grow and what
influences as children might effect thier adult lives.  I am so
proud of Melissa...
Maybe she will let me put up one of her favorite "Auto"
recipes on "cooking for the road".  http://www.twofortheroadusa.com/

FIRST ANNUAL CELEBRITY NFL BASKETBALL TOUR

Former NFL PLAYERS take on Local High School Faculty For Fundraiser

Phoenix - September - Former NFL Indianapolis Colt football player Sydney Justin,

along with the NFLPA Arizona Chapter and DeVry University, give back to the community.

Many of the 117 former NFL Football players that live in Arizona will be playing

basketball against the faculty of select High Schools throughout Phoenix and surrounding

areas starting September 13, 2011.

This celebrity NFLPA event, sponsored by DeVry University, gives H.S. students an

opportunity to get up close and personal with former NFL players as they compete

against their school faculty. After each basketball game there will be an opportunity to secure

autograph and memorabilia signing as well as photos with the players.

The first game will be held at Willow Canyon H.S. in Surprise, on Tuesday, Sept. 13th. The

scheduled day of the week differs for each school. Game time is 6 PM and admission for

H.S. and college students is $5.00, adults $8.00 and children 6-14 $3.00.

The referees and half time entertainment will also be of celebrity status.

This event is open to the public. The proceeds from the tour will benefit the “dire need

fund” for the former NFLPA chapter in Arizona and various programs at the High

Schools where the games are held.

Some of the players that will participate during the ten weeks will be Clearance Moore,

Kwamie Lasitter, Robert Tate, Michael Bankston, Kerry Justin, Steve Holden, Mike Davis, Nick

Lowery, Darrell Clack, MarTay Jenkins, Lincoln Kennedy, Ayrius

Justin, Syd Justin and Seth Joyner. Kurt Warner has signed on to participate if his

schedule allows.

Many of the NFL players, living in the valley, range in age from 23 upward. The “dire need

fund” is for medical conditions arising from short term play injuries or long- term disability for

players in need. The NFLPA is a non profit 501C 3.

DeVry University is pleased to sponsor a program that fosters community spirit and echoes its
