NISSAN LEAF… IT’S ELECTRIC

Two for the Road, Bill and Cathy, had an opportunity to visit with Nissan Corporation and experience up front and personal, the 2010 Nissan Leaf. It is 100% Electric, Zero Tailpipe and Zero Emissions.

We test drove one that is touring the Nation in Glendale, Arizona last week.  Nissan reports the Leaf has 100% torque at 0 RPM, and with top speeds of up to 90 mph, it’s ready for the highway.  A 5-passenger comfortable and futuristic interior, Nissan has a winner. The Leaf, will have a range of about 100 miles per charge.

You’ll be able to top off the battery at your local coffee shop, or fully charge it in 8

hours on a 220-V home-charging unit. (home charger needs to be installed.)  The placement of charging stations is in the works.

The Leaf gets better and greener when you realize the seat fabric is made of 100% recycled plastic bottles.  Other parts are also from recycled materials.

 Pricing has not been issued, but between $29,000 and $34,000 is the rumor. The Nissan Leaf will be available at dealers in late 2010, but you can reserve yours in Spring 2010.

HUGHES VIDEO … IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR

Two for the Road Productions, along with Wally Cahill of Motorsports Mania, complete the final touches on the Hughes Performance video. The Video will be used on the Hughes website and viewed on a big screen at the racetrack as they tour around the country.

The siblings introduce the family, give you a tour of the facility, and then out to the racetrack; including testimonials by some of the top names in the business that use the Hughes Products.

Surrounding the family are some of the many Wally Awards Jim Hughes has won.

The Wally is named after the NHRA legend Wally Parks.  The Wally award is equivalent to the Emmy, Oscar and Tony for TV, Motion Picture and theatre excellence.
